Action Research
Action Research
Action research may lack generalizability, but it is a powerful tool for developing instructional content, teaching methods, and learning activities. Through reflective, participatory, and classroom action research, teachers can create pedagogical templates that other teachers with similar pedagogical goals can use to begin their own exploratory instructional ventures.
Since completing my dissertation on international online language exchanges, I have been intrigued with developing translingual pedagogy for peer learners through cooperative teaching partnerships. With every session, improvements can be made to instructional content and implementation. There were limited opportunities to develop a research agenda in my internship placements, but I believe action research is essential in achieving teaching excellence.
Evidence of excellence in the use of action research to inform and enhance my teaching of ESL and world languages is demonstrated in my Research Statement, which includes a description of my research, collaborations with EFL teachers at universities abroad, objectives, methodology, outcomes, findings, and recommendations for further inquiry.
